The City of Rockford and the Rockford Area Economic Development Council, in conjunction with Wanxiang America Corporation are coordinating an Opening Ceremony on Tuesday, August 17, 2010. 

The ceremony will celebrate the grand opening of the Rockford Solar Panel plant and Governor Patrick Quinn’s signing of House Bill 6202 in Rockford.

HB 6202, the Solar Ramp-Up Bill, that recently passed the Illinois General Assembly, established interim solar targets to help Illinois successfully scale up: 0.5% in 2012, 1.5% in 2013, 3% in 2014, and reach 6% in 2015.
