The Illinois Solar Energy Association (ISEA) Solar House is a self-contained demonstration lab containing photovoltaic (pv) panels.
The ISEA Solar House, one of the first of its kind, has been displayed at Illinois State Fair and at many educational events in Illinois.
As ISEA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, we may not endorse any for-profit organizations and the Solar House may not be used to advertise for such businesses. Please do not attach signs or banners to the house endorsing any organization except for ISEA.
You can borrow the Solar House!
Use of the Solar House is free to registered nonprofits, but a suggested donation of $250 to help maintain the House’s upkeep is appreciated. For-profit companies who wish to borrow the Solar House are required to pay the $250 fee. Additionally, the House may not be used to advertise any entity beyond ISEA. Please pay here. If you are interested in renting the solar house please check its availability on the calendar and then fill out the below application or email us at contactisea@illinoissolar.org NOTE: Although ISEA may be able to provide towing and event support, borrowers are responsible for identifying a way to transport the Solar House. | General Requirements for Hauling:
The trailer is approximately 12 ft by 6 ft, 8 inches (not including the hitch). The Solar House weighs 3,460 pounds. Make sure that ALL switches remain ON when the House is not in use, EXCEPT for the light switch! |
