The Illinois Solar Tour is a series of FREE, public open houses and video tours all across the State to demonstrate how Illinois homes and businesses are using solar, wind, geothermal, passive solar design, energy efficiency, and more to be energy independent.

This year, the Solar Tour will be in a HYBRID format! Some sites will hold in-person tours, some will hold video tours, and some will hold both! Please check individual sites to make sure that it will be open for in-person tours.

The Solar Tour: A National Event

The ISEA Illinois Solar Tour is part of the American Solar Energy Society’s (ASES) National Solar Tour event, “the largest grassroots solar event in history.” More than 160,000 participants will visit some 5,500 buildings in 3,200 communities across the U.S. on tour day.
