The Illinois Power Agency announces a workshop to discuss 2018 Forward Procurements (for RECs from new utility-scale wind, utility-scale solar, and brownfield site photovoltaic projects).

The Illinois Power Agency will hold a workshop on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 from 1pm to 5pm Central Time to discuss the upcoming Forward Procurements scheduled to be conducted in 2018, namely:

• 2 million RECs delivered annually from new utility-scale wind projects (projects over 2 MW). Project application window opens August 24, bid date October 3. Commission decision October 10.
  
• 2 million RECs delivered annually from new utility-scale solar projects (projects over 2 MW). Project application window opens October 18, bid date November 28. Commission decision December 4.
  
• 80,000 RECs delivered annually from new brownfield site photovoltaic projects. Project application window opens October 18, bid date November 28. Commission decision December 4.
  

Dates listed are preliminary and subject to change. These Procurements are pursuant to the Agency’s Long-Term Renewable Resources Procurement Plan that was approved by the Illinois Commerce Commission on April 3, 2018.

This workshop will only be to discuss the Forward Procurements. Announcements regarding the Adjustable Block and Illinois Solar for All Programs (to support photovoltaic distributed generation and community solar) will be made at a later date.

The workshop will be held at 160 N. LaSalle St, Chicago, Illinois, in the 5th floor auditorium (C-500).

As described in the Long-Term Renewable Resources Procurement Plan contracts will be 15-year fixed price REC-only contracts. A more detailed agenda will be posted prior to the workshop.

Following the workshop the Agency will provide stakeholders an opportunity to provide written feedback on the topics discussed at the workshop. In the latter part of July, there will also be an opportunity for parties to provide comments on draft contracts.
