Position: Solar Field Sales Specialist - Burr Ridge, IL

Overview: You are an experienced, exceptional and self-motivated sales professional who has the ability to sell (solar systems) to businesses, factories, land owners, and local governments. You strive to make a six figure income per year.

Position Summary

      • Conduct on-site visits to prospective customers company/factory.
      • Meet with companies, local governments, land owners on daily basis to deliver presentation and proposals for appropriate solar installation projects.
      • Understand and offer advice on system design and financing solutions for prospective customers.
      • Generate new business opportunities through customer referrals.

Preferred Qualifications

Position: Project Manager - Chicago, IL

Overview: Project/construction management position with a fast-paced, rapidly growing company, in the clean energy sector, serving community solar and commercial solar clients. Position is responsible for the planning and coordination of all aspects of the construction process, including bidding, qualification of subcontractors and working with owners, engineers, and vendors.

Position Summary: Strong problem-solving abilities are a must in order to deal with inevitable shifts in project scope, schedule, etc. The position requires an understanding of the construction business, safety compliance, and the ability to work under deadlines, in a fast-paced environment. This is a mid to senior level position, depending on experience, with a high degree of responsibility. Expectations are focused on managing budget(s) and schedule(s) while maintaining a high level of communication internally and with the various external stakeholders. Essential Functions

  • Responsible for P&L of assigned projects
  • Implement and reinforce safety on the job-site
  • Oversee quality assurance/quality control on the project
  • Review drawings and specifications and have a thorough understanding of the scope of work
  • Solicit and obtain bids, identify qualified subcontractors and negotiate price and scope
  • Develop and deliver job progress reports
  • Prepare and monitor project schedules and act to assure projects stay on schedule
  • Initiate close-out procedures and prepare close-out documents
  • Approve invoices and manage progress billings
  • Monitor construction progress on a regular basis
  • Address any issues that arise during construction
  • Conduct project meetings
  • Maintain continuous contact with customer to keep them informed of project status
  • Coordinate with all permitting authorities
  • Coordinate with project designers and engineers to assure timely completion of design documents
  • Assist business development in developing project estimates and schedules during sales process

Knowledge/Skills/Ability

  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Knowledge in construction means and methods, experience in solar projects a plus.
  • Strong organization, leadership, negotiation and delegation skills are required
  • Working knowledge of scheduling concepts such as CPM, Gantt charts, etc
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required

  • Strong computer skills

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Minimum four (4) years related experience required

  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) is a plus

  • NABCEP certification is a plus

  • OSHA 30 is a plus


Details: This is a full-time position, with a minimum expectation of 40 hours per week. Hours are somewhat flexible, and some late evenings may be required. Travel domestically to job sites ranging from 10-25% of work hours, primarily by car. All employees are required to follow safety standards and wear all personal protective equipment in designated areas.

Job Opportunity with Future Energy Enterprises, LLC
Position: Senior Policy Analyst or Policy Analyst - Chicago, IL

The Policy Analyst will handle an array of responsibilities to assist in the facilitation of statewide low-income energy efficiency advisory committees (Income Qualified Energy Efficiency Advisory Committees – one in Northern Illinois, covering the northern third of the state, and one serving central and southern Illinois) in Illinois including meeting planning; communications and outreach to participants; tracking follow-up and action items; and providing background research and analytic support, when needed. Some travel is required for the purpose of attending large group meetings and individual meetings with committee participants and community-based organizations. The position will require reaching out, in person and by phone, to community-based organizations and other leaders who serve economically-challenged communities, Environmental Justice communities and diverse communities. This role will include a focus on outreach in central and southern Illinois, including traveling to meet individually with organizations interested in participating in the Income Qualified South Advisory Committee. The Policy Analyst may also support other energy consulting work for Future Energy Enterprises. Position will be either a Policy Analyst or Senior Policy Analyst depending on years of experience and level of education.

Qualifications: A minimum of two (2) years professional experience desired. Bachelor’s degree required. Preferred candidates will also have a Graduate Degree in related field (Ex: Public Administration, Public Policy, Urban Planning, Social Sciences, or related experience). Seeking candidates with demonstrated interest and/or experience serving low-income, economically challenged and/or diverse communities. Interest and/or experience working on clean energy or environmental issues preferred. Access to car required.

Position: Policy & Advocacy Manager - Chicagoland Area

Established in 1975, the Illinois Solar Energy Association (ISEA) advocates for supportive clean energy policies in Illinois. As a member based organization, ISEA is supported by over 400 individuals and 200 businesses representing all market segments and numerous support services. ISEA has long served as the voice for solar in the state through its dual mission of education and advocacy.

The ISEA Policy Manager position is a permanent full-time role.

The Policy Manager will be responsible for assisting in the development and leading the execution of a statewide strategic policy and government relations plan for the Illinois Solar Energy Association. This position will be accountable for ensuring that policies, legislation, and regulation are conducive to a positive business environment for the solar industry.

The successful candidate must possess critical, well developed skills in policy development. These skills include drafting legislation and regulations, as well as policy analysis, such as understanding cost and/or value of policies to the industry. Polished public presentation skills are also essential.

The Policy Manager will function as a lobbyist as needed and liaison with diverse parties including members and staff of all levels of government, ensuring that all identified policies and interests are advocated.

Salary is commensurate with experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop policy positions on behalf of the organization with assistance from the membership, association committee chairs, and board of directors
  • Develop work plans and plans of action for policy positions consistent with the organization’s Strategic Plan
  • Act as a representative of the Illinois Solar Energy Association and its member businesses in legislative and regulatory arenas
  • Coordinate the Association’s activities  in conjunction with an annual policy, regulatory, and legislative agenda
  •  Work with outside counsel, contract lobbyists and technical consultants as needed.
  • Represent the organization’s interests at public meetings and forums as applicable to the adoption and enactment of public policies by local and state governmental bodies
  • Provide staff support to the Executive Director on initiatives and efforts related to economic development
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • Top candidates should have three to five years successful background in public policy, government affairs, or regulatory affairs with proven results
    • Professional experience in public policy advocacy, research, and analysis
    • Proven experience in planning and implementing public policy events/agenda, or other advocacy activities
    • Experience with local, state, and federal legislative bodies and understanding of nuances of local government municipalities and agencies, state and federal political environment
    • Background in political campaigns and PAC fundraising a plus
    • Local and statewide knowledge of the political environment an asset
  • Proven coalition building skills; demonstrated skill and comfort proactively building relationships with member businesses, public officials, reporters and editors, community leaders, and the public.
  • Outstanding written and verbal skills and high comfort level in public speaking and media relations
    • Solid experience in media relations and making position statements before elected officials and other leadership bodies
    • Willingness to present before the Board of Directors, city council, and diverse audiences with political savvy regarding rules, regulations, policy positions, and legislative advocacy
    • High level communicator with experience in traditional and digital media platforms to compose regular communication pieces for electronic and print purposes
  • Willingness to work beyond normal work day and possible weekend hours as necessary
  • Able to travel as needed
  • Positive attitude and advanced work ethic
  • Successful candidate will preferably be located in the greater Chicago area
  • Bachelor's degree required
