Sustainability Is Key: Solar, Wind, and Geothermal Energy in Your Home - Skokie Public Library

  • 09 Apr 2019
  • 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM
  • Skokie Public Library Business Center, 5215 Oakton St, Skokie, IL 60077

Skokie residents, you have more options than ever for using renewable energy in your home. Hear about the latest trends and get tips on alternative energies.

Solar energy is the most popular home alternative energy source, and wind power is gaining steadily. Geothermal works well and has been used for at least one structure in Skokie. Alternative energy sources can add to your home's value and reduce its total energy use. Peter Gorr, Illinois Solar Energy Association solar ambassador, and Steve Marciani, Village of Skokie planning manager, will speak. They will provide information on sources for alternative energy. They have helpful tips on working with the Village and local contractors. They'll also let you know the locations of local charging stations for electric cars.

Cosponsored by the Skokie Telecommunications and Technology Advisory Commission and Sustainable Environmental Advisory Commission.
