Greening Real Estate - Appraisal value of green improvements

Join the USGBC - Illinois Chapter's North/Northwest Suburban Branch for a presentation on the residential green real estate market  We will define what a green home is, talk about implementation on the Green MLS, present some early market research, and talk about valuation and appraisal considerations. The session will apply to both new and existing green homes.

This class will help real estate professionals (brokers, agents, appraisers, developers) understand the history and fundamentals of green building on a national and local scale. Learn how to properly market homes with green features using latest tools available - setting these homes apart from the competition while being cautious of green washing. Learn more about voluntary certification programs such as: LEED for Homes, NAHB, Energy Star and Chicago Green Homes. As well as opportunities to educate themselves so they stay ahead of the learning curve and remain competitive in this emerging market. Learn more about the current green building initiatives in Chicago and the trends heading our way.

This program has been approved for 1.5 GBCI CE hour.
